If you have dental insurance, it’s important for you to learn everything you can about your policy and how to maximize your benefits so that you can get the dental care you need while enjoying the greatest amount of savings. At Havasu Dentistry, we’re happy to accept a variety of insurance plans and will make sure you fully understand the benefits you’re entitled to. Read our helpful guide below to learn more about insurance, and give us a call if you want to learn more about the particulars of your own policy.
First, you need to understand that dental insurance is somewhat different than medical insurance. While medical insurance is meant to be used in the case that something goes wrong, dental insurance provides more coverage for services that are meant to prevent oral health issues from occurring in the first place. For example, regular checkups, cleanings, and X-rays are often completely covered. This is why making at least two trips to the dentist each year is a key way to maximize your benefits.
Your insurance plan won’t look exactly like the ones offered by different carriers. We can review your plan with you so that you understand the type of coverage you can expect to receive. Normally, preventive care receives 80 to 100 percent coverage, fillings and other minor procedures are typically in the 70 to 80 percent range, and complex treatments are typically covered at 50%. Most plans won’t pay for cosmetic treatments (though they might if they also carry a dental health benefit).
We are in-network with multiple insurance providers. That means we’ve set specific prices for our services so that you can enjoy the highest amount of savings under your plan. We’re willing to work with you to get the most out of a different plan, and we can give you a general estimate of how much you can expect to be covered whenever you see us. Simply give us a call while you have your policy information on hand if you’d like to discuss your benefits.
