When it comes to your dental health, sudden changes typically aren’t welcomed. That’s because they usually represent a dental emergency in Havasu. This is the case of a man who left a tomato seed trapped between his teeth. It eventually started sprouting. Now that’s a unique place to start a garden!
#2 – The Palate with the Hole in It
Here is the perfect case of a DIY gone bad. It started with a guy discovering a hole in his palate. Instead of visiting a dentist, he decided to tackle it on his own. His remedy? To place wads of tissue in the vacated space. This led to a nasty infection and quite a unique dental emergency.
#3 – Applying Super Glue Where It Doesn’t Belong
To be perfectly clear, super glue should never be used in the mouth. One person tried to reattach a dislodged crown with super glue. This resulted in him adhering the wrong teeth together and covering the roof of his mouth with the sticky substance.
#4 – Blooming Tartar
This is an extreme case of dental negligence. For this person, the tartar buildup was so prevalent that it created a bridge between his teeth and gums. Upon discovering this, the poor fellow attempted to remove the buildup by aggressively brushing his teeth. This resulted in nearly all his teeth falling out.
#5 – Maggot Infestation
The first sign of trouble was a young boy rubbing his swollen mouth. His parents took him to a dentist for the first time, only to discover that there were maggots hiding inside the boy’s mouth. Needless to say, the parents and child needed some dental hygiene tips going forward.
#6 – A Real Jaw Breaker
No, this isn’t the candy found in vending machines. This involves a real jaw break that occurred during a dental visit. While attempting to extract a tooth, a dentist got too carried away and mistakenly broke the patient’s jaw, resulting in the jaw being wired shut for two months.
#7 – When the Drill Goes Wild
A Swedish woman was badly injured when a dental drill came loose during a procedure and dove deeper into her mouth. It ended up traveling down her throat and becoming lodged in her lung. Thankfully, doctors were able to perform an emergency surgery to successfully extract it.
#8 – A Forgettable Root Canal
On this particular day, a man thought he would be undergoing a routine root canal. By the time the appointment was over, he only had a 90-minute memory span. To this day, specialists are unable to determine what happened.
